Our Mission
2020 reminded us of many things, but the greatest one is that God is in control and He directs our steps. Actually He moves us in directions we would never imagine for ourselves. What began as a youth mentoring program has been stretched as a call to share God's love with others through meeting their immediate needs of food, shelter, laundry, transportation, prayer and encouragement. We have been humbled to learn of both the monumental struggle, and the healing power that in the form of a food delivery, school supplies, a rice cooker, a ride to the doctor, a prayer, and encouraging word can bring to those who are in need.
What We Do
God has brought us word of families in need from schools. churches, Facebook groups and a manager from an extended stay hotel. Once we identify the need, we coordinate with the family to meet and help however possible. We started with a Friday night call for an immediate need for food for a family of 7 living in an extended stay hotel room, and our ministry has grown to include dropping off food pantry items to families without cars to attending the drive through events, providing school supplies for kids working at home during the pandemic, buying warm clothes and shoes, giving rides to doctor's appointments and job interviews, washing clothes for a family without money for the laundromat, and the most fun: playing santa for 4 families where the kids would not have had any gifts for Christmas.
In addition to meeting physical needs, we pray with each family and remind them the God loves them and that we will walk alongside them as they navigate this difficult time. 2021 brings ongoing opportunities, and we will begin offering families micro grants to pay a bill if they participate in a coaching session designed to help them identify their issue and create steps to follow to bring them toward a solution to their financial roadblock. Our goal is to empower all families to reach the next level in power, love and good judgement.
